#45friday with this seriously striking piece of The Fall’s vinyl history, the 1987 UK 7” single There’s A Ghost in My House released on Beggars Banquet .

This particular edition is the highly distinctive hologram sleeve pressing, giving an already unusual Fall release an extra collector appeal. The sleeve artwork is credited to Suzanne Smith, while the record was produced by Grant Cunliffe.

The A-side is The Fall’s abrasive, unmistakable take on R. Dean Taylor’s “There’s a Ghost in My House,” turning the Northern Soul favourite into something far more angular and post-punk. The B-side, “Haf Found Bormann,” is a Mark E. Smith composition and makes this a particularly interesting two track snapshot of The Fall in 1987.

A fantastic example of why The Fall’s 1980s singles remain so collectible , great music, unusual artwork and a distinctly British post-punk aesthetic.
