A fantastic slice of Jamaican reggae and dub history, this Gregory Isaacs – “Storm” / Ossie All-Stars – “Leggo Dub” 7” brings together one of the Cool Ruler’s best known rhythms with its heavyweight dub counterpart.

Released by VP Records in 2019 , this is the first time “Storm” was issued on a 7” single. 

“Storm” dates back to the late 1970s and became an important reggae riddim that was subsequently used by numerous artists. The track was recorded at Channel One Studio and associated with producer and engineer Ossie Hibbert. 

The B-side, “Leggo Dub,” strips the rhythm back into classic heavyweight dub territory. The related Leggo Dub album was originally released in 1978 and features dub versions of several Gregory Isaacs tracks, with the backing supplied by Jamaica’s renowned studio musicians.
