Released in 2014, the album captures DeMarco at a pivotal point in his career, combining his laid-back guitar sound, off-kilter songwriting and unmistakably hazy production into a collection that has become a modern indie classic.

From the dreamy opening moments of “Salad Days” to fan favourites such as “Chamber of Reflection,” “Blue Boy,” and “Let Her Go,” the record balances playful melodies with more reflective themes. Beneath the relaxed guitars and lo-fi aesthetic, DeMarco explores growing older, relationships, uncertainty and the strange feeling of leaving one stage of life behind.

Part of the album’s appeal is its atmosphere. The warm guitars, slightly warped vocals and vintage sounding production give Salad Days a nostalgic quality without making it feel dated. It sounds casual and spontaneous, but there is a lot of songwriting craft underneath the surface.

Come buy this superb album from the shop today!

‘Buy Sell Trade Vinyl at Bristol’s Friendly Local Record Shop’
