1975 reissue of the 1968 Classic.
A fantastic piece of Small Faces history. The Small Faces – Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake, in its 1975 reissue edition.
Originally released in 1968, Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake is one of the most recognisable albums of the British psychedelic era. The album is famous for its distinctive round sleeve, designed to resemble a vintage Ogdens tobacco tin, with ornate Victorian style typography, floral decoration, medals and colourful psychedelic artwork.
This 1975 reissue retains the instantly recognisable visual identity that made the original release so famous. The front features the elaborate “Ogdens Special Nut Gone Celebrated Flake Tobacco”design, while the reverse continues the striking psychedelic and floral artwork.
Musically, the album remains a landmark recording by one of Britain’s most influential 1960s bands. Highlights include “Afterglow (Of Your Love),” “Song of a Baker,” “Lazy Sunday” and the Happiness Stan narrative that occupies the second half of the album.
