If you are a serious collector of roots reggae and dub vinyl, If Deejay Was Your Trade: The Dreads at King Tubby’s 1974–1977  needs to be an absolute cornerstone for your collection. Released in 1994 as the debut compilation from Steve Barrow’s legendary Blood & Fire label, this release documents a pivotal era in sound system culture.

During the mid-1970s in Kingston, producer Bunny "Striker" Lee and master mix engineer King Tubby joined forces to record a powerhouse lineup of deejays (toasters) over heavy rhythm tracks played by The Aggrovators. This compilation is the result of this!
